Santa Ana Register, Feb. 9, 1976

The following article concerns unsolved murders in Orange County in 1975, and also mentions some from 1974 and 1976. One such case is the murder of Beverly D. Stapp. The murder of Patricia Ann Ross has since been solved.

Other 1975 cases mentioned here that I intend to investigate further, including determining the case status, are those of Maria Guadalupe McClelland, Junior Kelly Alvarez, Luis Jimenez Garcia, Lawrence Wheelock, Donna Rae Goodell, and James R. Perry. Those of 1974 are Shirley Ann Grillet, Gary Thomas Ratzlaff, Adela Dorothy Bonilla, Marc Thomas Dewdney, and Charlene Robertson.

Five young men mentioned in this article have since been confirmed to be victims of serial killer Randy Kraft. These are John Leras, Mark Hall, James Reeves, Roger Dickerson, and Keith Crotwell. Dickerson was unnamed in the article, instead only referred to as an "18-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine [...] found near Laguna Beach." Furthermore, Crotwell's remains were unidentified at the time of publication: he is the then-unidentified "person whose bones were found in October [1975] by two boys playing in a Laguna Hills field." The other victims found in Orange, LA, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties since 1972 alluded to on the first page of the article were also victims of serial killer Randy Kraft.
