BERKELEY - East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) police today were endeavoring to learn the identity of the woman whose body was found just east of here in Contra Costa County near the entrance to the Lake Anza area in Tilden Regional Park. The body was half clothed and she had been bludgeoned to death. According to Sgt. Bruce Johnson, of EBRPD police, a hiker, Charles Jones of Albany, found the body about 4 p.m. Saturday just indide the entrance to the area about 20 feet from an auxiliary parking lot. Her skull was crushed and she was nude from the waist down. She was further described as between 20 and 25 with brown hair and brown eyes, about five feet three and weighting 165 pounds. Identity of murdered woman is sought MARTINEZ- The sheriff's office today appealed to the public for help in identifying a murder victim and possibly in apprehending her killer. Body of the victim, referred to by investigators as "Jane Doe,' , was found Aug. 23 in Tilden Regional Park. She was a caucasian, 22 to 28 years old, five-feet, three-inches tall, weighing 166 pounds, and having medium brown hair and brown eyes. S He was well tanned and had marks indicated she had been wearing a bikini type bathing suit. Her fingernails and toenails were well manicured. Apparently she had had extensive and excellent dental care. The only clothing on the body was a white brassiere, silver and turquoise T-shirt with a silk-screen type painting on the front depicting clouds, the sun's rays and a bi-plane plus she wore a - turquoise chocker-type necklace, with a silver ring and three turquoise inlaid stones. She was nude from the waist down. East bay regional park district police said she had been bludgeoned to death. A hiker found the body about 4 p.m., just inside the entrance to the Lake Anza area of the park. Anyone having information that might aid in the identification of the body or the apprehension of her murderer is asked to call either Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Ken Dyer, at 372-2422, or Coroner's Sgt. Dale Sandy, at 372-2409. Weather Variable cloudiness tonight and Sunday with a slight chance of showers. INFORMATION WANTED Contra Costa County She Harry D. Ramsay, is seeking identification of Jane Doe, a homicide victim, who was found in Tilden Park near Berkeley, California, on August 23, 1975. Jane Doe is described as being a Caucasian female, 22 to 28 years old, 5'3" tall, weighing 166 lbs., medium brown hair, brown eyes. The body is well tanned and indicates the victim wore a bikini type bathing suit. Victim's fingernails and toenails are well manicured. Victim exhibits extensive and excellent dental care. The only clothing worn O was a turquoise blue t-shirt with a silk screen type painting on the front depicting clouds and sun rays behind a bi-plane. Two Jane Does Finally Buried The burial of two unidentified women has been "reluctantly authorized" by SheriffCoroner Harry D. Ramsay after long investigations failed to determine who they were. "Unfortunately, someone somewhere must be wondering what became of these women," Ramsay said. The first Jane Doe was a homicide victim who was found in Tilden Park on August 23, 1975. She was a Caucasion, 5 feet, 3 inches, weighing 166 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Her age was estimated at 21 to 28. The only clothing was a turquoise blue T-shirt with a bi-plane on cloud background. She wore an Indian style silver turquoise ring and a silver necklace with turquoise stones. The second Jane Doe was an apparent accidental overdose victim found in Richmond on April 11, 1976. She was a black female, 5 feet 2 inches, at Memory Gardens. black hair and brown eyes. Her estimated age was in the mid-twenties. She was wearing a beige skirt and matching blouse, beige shoes and brown jacket. She was thought to be a prostitute who recently came to the Bay Area from Los Angeles, however, this has not been confirmed. Burial was made by local funeral directors Monday at memory Gardens. "While these women will be buried, they will not be forgotten," Ramsay said. "If anyone has any information, call the coroner's office at 372- 2406," Ramsay added.
