Oregon Locations

Below is a list of locations in Oregon, with post tags/labels attached. For easy access, a list of all other labels can be found here.

Only the most notable and/or relevant communities in 24 of the state's 36 counties are listed here. Not all of these have tags associated with them, but I have listed all that (will) come up at least once, as well as other significant/populous communities, including ones that have/had its own newspaper.

Accessed from here.

The communities — cities/towns, incorporated communities, census-designated places, and (less frequently) unincorporated communities — are listed alphabetically underneath each county subheading. Each county seat is bolded, and the largest cities by population in each county are italicized. Large cities have also been broken down into neighborhoods when relevant. Also included are "protected lands," primarily regional, state, and national parks and forests. It should be noted that many of these protected lands had not yet received official designation during the time period on which this blog focuses (60s and 70s).

I have also included information regarding tribes, rancherias, and reservations in each county, sourced and cross-referenced from the DOHS, OSU, Pacific University, and WikipediaI have opted to use the full, official name of each tribe for the sake of comprehensiveness.

This is intended as both a place to find tags, as well as a general reference list. Even if not the case for others, I find it useful myself, especially when considering jurisdictions!
