Particularly of note are the mentions of violence against hitchhikers, including murder. These pages also serve as a reference for addresses of various services and accommodations at the time. I have blocked out all phone numbers.  

Note: DiMaggio uses the terms "freaks" and "longhairs" as synonyms for "hippies" and general young, open-minded hitchhikers. These terms have positive connotations in this context. Furthermore, "will crash" means that individuals would be allowed to sleep at the specified location for a short period of time.
